All the universities, including the University of Gujarat, are in the process of initiating the college examinations, results and the new semester. The new term of the college can be started in the first week of August after reducing the duration of the remaining examinations of the college and preparing the result based on the internal marks of the previous examination.
Changes based on the suggestions and recommendations of the UGC Special Committee:
The lockdown in the country has also affected the education of students. The special committee set up by the UGC for this purpose has also given some suggestions for change based on different suggestions and recommendations. This includes marking the students on the basis of internal assessment, suggesting reducing the duration of the examination from 3 hours to 2 hours.
The Union Education Minister discussed the issue of examinations and new semester in a meeting:
At a recent meeting on the issue, the Union HRD minister also discussed the start of the new term from July 1 and August, the date of college examinations. This means that the college may be open from August. The college level examination will be held from July 1 and efforts will be made to announce the results by the end of July so that a new semester can begin in August.
